Still dealing with this problem
It looks like I am going to head to a local 4x4 shop to see what's going on this noise. Anyone here can help out a poor dude? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guys and Gals,
I have a problem and need a little guidance. When I shift my automatic 1987 Bronco in to drive, I get a KLUNK!!!!!!!!! If I shift it out of drive to reverse, I get not KLUNK. SHift it back to drive, and KLUNK. Took it to the mechanic this morning and he seems to think it's within the transfercase. He said it was .5 quart low on tranfercase fluid which he topped off. It still goes...........KLUNK. I welcome thoughts on this matter.
P.S. Initially we suspected it was a u-joint issue but after eliminating (disconnected the driveshaft) that as a possibility, I am back to the same ole' KLUNK.
