I have a 2003 f150. I hate coming on here and asking people what performance upgrades I should do to it instead of doing my own homework. But this truck is new to me being that my 2002 f150 v8 got T-boned by someone and was totalled. It has a standard tranny. I have been looking into a turbo set up, MAF, exhaust, and maybe diffrent gears for it. Does this sound good or not and is there something else I should look at doing? Too my aftermarket TB from the other truck will not fit on this truck. Thanks for the help!
supercharger kit is 3200 dollars, or, you could wait for the turbo project to come out, which woul dbe around 2800 or more...OR, you could piece together and have someone make some welds for you, for around 1400.
Ive seen a couple 3.8L (same engine) mustangs, running TT's, and hitting 11's. Depends on what you want in the end, and how you want to achieve it.
Hey thanks for the info Garrett. I know I should change out the gears on it to get better low end torque. I would love to put on a turbo for around town fun, but I have seen how much they run. Do you have any links to that 3.8 set up Garrett?
I think the creator resides at www.v6power.net But dont quote me on that. It is a mustang, by the way. Also, check out www.trixtersracing.com they are in the process of devoloping a remote kit, and a semi-traditional kit. Keep us updated if you decide to get a power adder.
Gears are kinda funny. I know a lot of people run 4.10s, but then they get turbod or SC'ed, and they run out of first gear in a hurry. If you are wanting to end up with a form of forced induction, I would suggest maintaining stock gears, or 3.55, possibly 3.73s. The two flagships of Trixters racing, have the stock 3.55s, and are putting out over 400rwhp and 500rwtq. Keep in mind they have a 4.6L, and 5.4L, respectively.

PS If you contact Trixters Racing, let Derek (Crash) know Garrett sent ya.
Yeah I have been looking at crash's site. Is he from Dallas? I am in Forth Worth which is not far. Also on the gears, I have been looking at the 3.73's. I think anything more than that will be too much. Thanks again Garrett!
