Will Unleaded Fuel read the same ?
I just pulled my plug's to replace them and they are almost white. This is with a Holley 500cfm running #69 jets in a 352 2v
I had a preivious post about a jeting question, And frankly im perplexed, The smog place had me running 10-1 with #71 jets single exaust, I had black soot on the exaust pipe, I went to #69's and it still was rich,I then put a flowmaster dual system in and it had more power but still wasnt right, It felt like it was still to rich. I pulled the plugs to replace them geting ready for a trip to the dyno and they were almost white, The last time I checked them they were Dark( befor the dual exaust and a trip of about 60 miles).I put a set of #63 jets in and now it has no power going up the hill to my place but it Idles the best it ever has.
Can a dual Exaust system lean out the mixture that much?
Do proper mixture Sp plugs look leaner then they did with leaded fuel ( that is more white than brown )?
Do i possably need to upjet insted of down jet ?
And do these older FE motors need to run rich?
