I was just curious if anyone else has had problems with their automatic locking hubs. I got my 1994 Ranger in 96. The auto hubs went once in 98 or 99 I think and lucky I was still covered under my extended warranty since they said it was about an $800 job. Then this past winter, they went again I brought it to a different Ford place and they told me that it would cost around $600 for new hubs or I could install manual hubs for $400. I went with the latter and am hoping to not have any more probs. Was just curious if anyone else had experienced similar probs with the auto hubs.
I have manual hubs...
I boghtmy truck used a year and half ago, and the guy had the same problems as you. Decided he'd go manual when his warranty went out.
Problemless so far...I actually like it better. You really know what's going on.
My 94 Bronco also had Auto Hubs. after about 25000 miles when you turned a corner they would Growl. Dealer said $900 Luck was under warrenty. no more Problems.
