i seen that the black wire and the green wire from tps are pulling out of tps i think sometimes they are shorting out cuz my truck misses bad all of a sudden could this be? also the ecu will reset pumps will prime ect. what would these wires shorting cause?
1994 f-150 5.0 h.o. from early 90s mustang have already replaced ign.module
idle air bypass cleaned t.b and egr. plugs cap rotor wires 1 injector used lucas in gas also. every time that i run codes i get different ones thats another reason i think it is tps shorting out. what do you think? thanks ,

from check engine lite and i went to autozone and had them try to pull them too and same thing happened. one time it gave code 12 then tryed again and it gave another but had not even started engine and we did wait till it finished the first time. its really getting old i have been chasing this for about 2 weeks.
If you short VREF to ground, it will raise all kinds of havoc with the PCM, post random unexplainable codes, etc.
The TPS is not all that critical. You'd be better off without a TPS than to have VREF shorting out.
Shorting the TPS signal to ground or to SIGRTN will probably confuse the PCM but shouldn't cause it to reset. Shorting SIGRTN to ground shouldn't do anything.
If the wires are visibly damaged, you should fix them. At least wrap any bare wires with electrical tape. You can get a TPS for next to nothing at a pick-your-part junkyard.
Check all your ground wires. Battery post, chassis ground on small stud in front of battery, PCM ground near left hood hinge, frame, engine block.
Check the PCM power relay and power wires going to it.
Electronic computers do not like having power randomly removed and your problems seem more symptomatic of this than issues with the TPS.
i got home today and replaced tps with new one it ran fine for a little while then it got worse than ever if this makes sense when you push gas peddle its like a delayed reaction before it takes off and at idle it will die and sounds like its real rich like the choke was closed but i know it dont have a choke just trying to compare to something. any way im ****ed i thought tps would fix it. if mass airflow is bad what would it act like? any thoughts would be helpfull. thanks
