A thought had passed through my mind a while back about something I could do to prevent axle wrap when I stomp on it. can I use just one bar that goes from a bracket I will put on top of my pumpkin, to a crossmember in the frame jsut a little in front of it. the bar will be somewhere around 2 feet long, and when the truck sits the bar will be somewhat close to level. I am just wondering if this will solve my problem, or if it is a useless idea
No need to re-invent the wheel. This is one of the more basic methods folks use. Remember that if you use a solid bar it will limit your articulation, so use a shackle where it connects to the crossmember. In this application you can't use a slipjoint with a single bar on a horizontal plane. This isn't as good as custom ladder bars, but it will help control axle wrap a good deal.
