That cheesy little tube tube from the air filter box to the grill may not look like enough, but it will flow more air than your stock intake and exhaust manifolds will. All you've really accomplished is to draw in warm air from the engine compartment instead of cooler outside air in through the cold air duct. Once you've had a port and polish job done, then you may see a further increase in horsepower by opening up your intake some. Until then you're probably better off returning it to the way it came from the factory so it will function the way it was designed too.
