I replaced my 03 SC, with an 05 CC.. The driving experience is the biggest difference.. The new front end rides Smooooth, and it steers/tracks 'arrow' straight.. Brakes don't seem to be 'that much' of an improvement IMO, but haven't had to hammer'm ..yet!! The 03 with its wrapped exhaust pipes ect. was actually 'slightly' quiter at 60-70mph.. The 05 when cold has a louder idle for sure until it warms some, even more so than a un-piloted/flashed 6.0.. After it heats up, it idles quiter than the 03 did.. Sounds goooood though!! And at cruise it has a nice 'gear drive' sound.. Don't hear the turbo as much on the 05 either.. The 03 had a nice turbo song, but is a good trade off.. The 05 gauges are very nice but a lttle harder for me (6' 3") to see with the swapped gauge postion for the speedo so far off to the right.. Some things like the more firm captains chairs on the 03 are missed, but the comfort, ride, and enhancements are well done on the 05!!!!!
Yep - all that stuff bolts on - before I traded my 02 in on my new 05, I removed the glove box light, and the hood blanket and put them in my new 05 - plugged right in no problem..!
My 03 with captains chairs/console combo had a plastic 'dress' plate at the bottom of the console to cover the bolt heads and level the bottom area.. It was also eliminated on the 05 OR was missed on the assembly line.. Anyone else missing this panel? Seems Ford is trying to keep from raising costs by deleting the frills.. Was going to pull my hold blanket ect, but felt bad striping the old girl for the 05!! Think'n different now......

Where was the harness for the glove box light?...I got the light but can't find the plug...mine's an 04...
I couldn't find a harness for the light, but the hole in the plastic was there. So I placed the light in the hole (fit right in) and simply ran the hot wire to an empty hot junction in the fuse holder on the drivers side - grounded the light to an existing bolt. Works just fine.....
One thing I heard was ford changed a part in the tranny. 04 they were spending 3 bucks for this certain part and on 05 they replaced it with a 90 cent part. Well a big constuction firm in my area bought three 05s and 2 months later 2 of them have had tranny probs. They are saying it is in the 90 cent part. plastic versus metal or something in of the sort.I dont know just something to consider.
