I really wanna know what make`s them so diffrent ,cause i can get a new `04 pretty cheap 6.0 PS 4x4 CC TF trans FX4 package on it ,I think I can get it for about 35.500 to 36,500
the front end is different, they went from leaf springs to coil springs. the grill, bumper and head lights are different. The engine has more power and the GCWR, GVWR, and towing capacities all went up. There is an trailer brake controller installed from the factory, and i believe on certain models there are upfitter switches. i am sure i missed something but someone will come along sooon.
and more money? Some differences in the engine:
1 Deleted intake throttle – instead added air flow “directors” inside RH exhaust tube & intake manifold.
2 New air inlet elbow to replace the throttle
3 Replace Rexroth high pressure pump with Shepard pump.
4 Replace Injection Press Relief (IPR) screen with perforated plate style filter – allows finer filtration (150 vs. 200 micron).
5 Water inlet relocated on front cover to accommodate new steering gear
6 New fuel supply and return pipes to accommodate water inlet
position
7 Improved EGR valve, increased flow, required for emissions.
8 Intake Manifold, EGR Distribution
9 Turbo Upgrade for flutter improvement
However, the most recent flash on my 03 fixed any lag issue and the EGR is still connected.
