But who knows, a lot of the guys I know think that it is cool that I want to go to college to be a diesel machanic! I just don't know, well I think I am just going to ask him to party with me this weekend, and see what happens from there! Thanx guys for the advice, keep the advice rolling in! I can you all of the advice you can give!
Wow. This sounds a little familar. Maybe we're long lost sisters. I'm a 21 y/o female and I have been exactly where you are right now. In fact, I'm thinking of going into diesel mechanics too.

Anyway the only way you are going to know is if you just ask him straight out. Tell him how you feel and see if there is anything there. Take it from another girl, guys are really bad at catching on to hints so you need to just spell out for him and see where it goes.

When I approached my guy friend I got turned down. I then found out it was because he was after a "girly" girl. At the time I was a little upset, but I got over it with time. I figure if that is what the guy wants then I don't want to be with him anyway. I want a guy that can appreciate me, not want me to be something I'm not. Me and him are still good friends and we all go party or wrench together from time to time. It is much easier now that we both know where we stand.

Good luck! I hope it all works out good for you. Even if it doesn't work out remember that there are lots of guys out there and you shouldn't settle on one if he isn't going to appreciate you for you.

You can email me if you want to chat some more.

Twenty years ago you could not find a gal who wanted to get dirty hands. Now, there all over the place. My wife will not have anything to do with working on a truck or car. Damn, I got to old to quick.

Yeah, I kinda lucked out myself, the summer of my Junior year of highschool, I found someone I liked, started out doing things in groups and it later escalated to just the two of us going to a movie and dinner typa thing. Still dating her, it'll be 14 months tommorow Atleast... I think it's tommorow, better ask her...

Anyway... I for one would advise not asking him out. Flirt and hint toward things, but it's the guys job to take the initiative. Not saying you should start looking for all those control freaks out there, but it's usually the guy's part of "the deal" to take you out on a date. This is assuming your not a cheap date who's just looking for a guy to claim as her's and someone to talk to like a best friend. Hope it works out for ya

I do agree with you when you say that it is the guy's part of the deal to ask me out and take me out!! I think that I am just going to let him know what I feel and then he can do what he wants from there!! That is prettty much all that I can do I don't believe in asking guys out! I am old fashioned when it comes down this sort of thing!

I agree too on the guy asking us girls out. Problem for me is that most guys these days won't ask the girl out. They just expect it to happen or something. Or at least that has been my experience here in Washington.

Good luck (again) OC !!!!

Yes! I can't find a guy that will just straight out ask me out!! What is wrong with guys these days!! I have dated someone who just "ASSUMED" that we were dating!! What a dumbazz!! What was he thinking!!

But today I seen the guy I am nervous to talk to him about how I feel! And I chickened out!! I just don't feel like he likes me like that! I just don't know anymore!!! TEAR!

Take the bull by the horns so to speak Gal. Muster up your courage without the help of any Booze or Lightning Lettuce and just let him know how you feel without being condesending . You say the other guys feel you are good looking but if this guy owns a '78 Ford he must be smart enough to realize that beauty is not all there is to a good partner any way and should pick up right away when he realizes you have the gumption to let him know

I'm 3 times 18 and the women who gained my respect the quickest while paving my road in life were the ones that spoke their minds and dispensed with all those
adolesent mind games as soon as possible .

Ok Kristie, if you were to move to Alaska, I hear that the men out number the women like 10 to 1. At least you would not have to ask anybody out. You would have to turn them down.

Don't worry there, Kristie. Just like the other guys say, go up to him and talk to him. The best way to start:

Hi. My name is Kristie, I want your body! (The truck body, that is.)

Okay, 'Nuff foolin around.

But just go up and say hi. Only a real dirtbag would reject a Hi.

Wink hey it's me

Picture of me

Hey so this is me in case you are wondering what I look like!! But I will have to talk to him!! Because it is driving me nuts!! I really just need to get the ***** and do it!! You guys are really great!! I don't want to let you guys down so I am going to say something to him next time!! but it's probably not going to be like "I like you!" It's probably going to be something like "Hey so we should hang out this weekend!!" Or I might just say both!! You never know!! And it will be in school most likely unless I see him this weekend at a party or something! Who knows! So this means that I will probably not be drunk or eatting any "lightening lettuce!" HAHAHA (That's the funniest thing I have heard to!!) But I will for sure keep you all posted on what is going on!! THANKS ALWAYS!!
