Service engine soon light....

My 2002 f-150 4x4 (4.2L) "service engine soon light came on (not blinking)over a month ago..no apparent problems noticed...any ideas or suggestions as to why ? 32,000 miles thanx-great forum!!

Take it to autozone and have them put the scanner on the truck (its free), write down the code and post it here. Someone will reply with what the code means.

Best thing to do is to go to your local autozone and have them use there scan tool on it to get the codes that is causing your light to come on. By the way this is a free service from autozone. Not knowing what code(s) are causing your light to come on hard to tell what it could be, espeically if it is not causing any apparent problems. HOpe this helps.

2002 and 32K miles - You're still under warranty aren't you? I'd be going to the dealer.
