I have a 92 f150 4.9L and it is vibrating all over the place. Example I am cruising on the highway and it is vibrating then i give it some gas and it goes away. I was driving it for a little while with a broken engine mount because lack of money that engine would be all over the place.. Could that cause anything to bend or break....
id check all mounts, engine & transmission. look into the rear end as well.
is the shake in the steering wheel or in the whole truck ?
i need to rebuild the rear end on my 90 f150 it has alot of play in it.
it also shakes the whole truck not to bad tho i can 80 and 90 its to not to bad tho
under load it goes away, but cruising speeds it comes back. well it sure sounds like drivetrain to me. either bad rearend, all the way to the trans output. get under there with the rear wheels off the ground, and check for any looseness in the driveshaft u joints. check to see if the pinion nut didn't work its way loose. and check the trans output for any type of significant play.
was tired and old. factory sealed u joint are good for 50-60k under normal use. they werent the greatest, but better than most of the foreign made units sold by the discount parts chain stores. it sounded like a bad u joint, thats why i advised you to check drive train. it is a common mistake to think it is another problem. its a learning lesson everytime, even to me, 16 years as an ASE Master Tech. every job is different, but always start at the obvious.
