I have an 86 f150 302 EFI.
I drove to the store today and heard a new vibration that I hadn't heard before so I drove right back home.
When I got home I listened all over the engine bay and then crawled underneath the truck to find the source of the vibration. My fuel filter on the driver's frame rail was vibrating enough for me to hear it inside the truck and even above the radio.
Does this mean I just need to change the fuel filter or is it a symptom of another problem?
I'd change the filter and look to see if there is a hold-down component that the filter has come free from (allowing it to rattle). If not, see if that fixes it and if not, try to evaluate why it is rattling. Either the filter position has changed or the entire truck is vibrating more than before.
