I THINK MY 2 Y/O STUCK SOMETHING IN THE CD..CANT EJECT ANYTHING. DO I NEED TO REMOVE THE UNIT OR IS THERE A SIMPLER WAY? IF I DO NEED TO RREMOVE IS THERE A SPECIAL TOOL OR SOMETHING? thanks
Quite possibly the CD carriage has collapsed. That was an issue with the older model 6 disk radios. A couple years ago I worked for Ford Radio QC. I basically went out the the dealerships and warrantied all Ford radios, amplifiers, speakers, video and security systems. The 6 disks radios where major issues. If you remove the radio and look at the top is has a sticker that says "Scrap is dropped". You don't even have to drop them. Just slap them hard on the top and they crash. Even a hard pot hole can damage them. Up the street from my job now there is the Visteon warehouse. The pre assemble the Focus dashboards and ship them out to the plant. The morons there would install the 6 disk radios into the Focus dashes and them ship them off. Well by the time the Ford plant got them and banged them around and installed the whole dash assembly into the car they had basically ruined all 6 disk radios. That's why everyone that has a Focus with the 6 disk radios in them have issues. A little insider information for you all...lol
I now work for the Ford Accessory Division here in Kansas City and thank god we do not deal with the radios. I just deal with the keyless entrys, alarms, remote starts and all bolt on stuff like running boards, spoilers, bed liners and more.
