What vehicle is this on? Does it have manual or hydrolic clutch? Was the transmission in water? Look over the transmission and linkage for damage and mud.

Sounds like the clutch linkage is jammed, as if it is keeping the clutch depressed.

Hey guys It was in a 95 bronco. Half of the trans was under water. It is a hydrolic clutch. It did not burn up. I was in the hole trying to get yanked out just using reverse and when they would back up to give it another jerk I would depress the clutch and it kept feeling spungier and spungier. Finally it would not disengage. You can start the truck and put it into any gear I can even put it into 4low. When you depress the clutch the only resistance that you have is the spring. It just goes straight to the floor then you have to pull it back out. I have noticed a small leake where the fitting goes through the side of the tranny and into the clutch itself. I checked the fluid level and it was empty. We tride to bleed it to no avail The bleeding was as soon as we got it out of the hole. It felt like it was coming back and then nothing. SO help please. No Damage or mud on anything.
Thanks Casey

If the clutch got wet, it's probably stuck and needs replaced. The pivots on the pressure plate are probably rusted solid. Or the throw out bearing is rusted to the trans shaft. Is there a cover on the bottom of the bellhousing you can remove and inspect it?

Yep there is a rubber stop on the bottom and I removed but can not really see anything that is wrong. If I have to replace it what would be a good one to go with. I am putting 8''skyjacker lift and maybe a 2''body. I am still debating on putting 40s on it. I think that I may go with 38s. I really want an indestructable clutch. This truck is my project "O-#@%$ Look Out" I just got it and I am slowly going to break stuff and fix it with better. If the throw out bearing is rusted to the trans shaft than it would not go into gear or start would it? Also this just happened 2 days ago. We got it pulled out in about 1 hour or 2. Thanks for the reply Casey
