Does clutch pedal engagement get closer to floor as clutch wears?
I have a M5R2 transmission and it seems that the engagement point on the clutch pedal is getting closer to the floor the older the truck gets. I have 114,000 miles on the clutch.
Does the clutch engagement point get closer to the floor as the clutch wears on these hydraulic clutches ?

Well, theoretically, the hydraulic clutch should self adjust and keep the engagement point the same, at least until the clutch is so worn the slave cylinder cannot keep up with it. In that case, the engagement point would move to the top of the travel, like any other clutch. This is because the clutch disc is getting thinner and thinner, so you have to let out more pedal in order for the clutch pressure plate to make engagement.

Had this same problem with one of my trucks. Check the pedal assembly. Watch above the gas pedal and work the cluth with your hand the shaft that comes from the cluth pedal goes through a plastic bushing that is in the bracket then there is a lever and then a nut. Watch for movement around that plastic bushing mine wore the whole way through and ended up wearing the whole in the bracket. I replaced the bushing and it was fine for awhile i had to eventually take the bracket out. i just welded the hole and redrilled it and replaced the bushing with a brass one. not sure how common this problem is, but its something to look at.

I did a search & this thread seems to be the closest problem to what I'm experiencing with the '96 F250 7.5/5 speed I just bought...
Having to push the pedal way down before it disengages. (almost to the floor)
Checked the fluid & it's full.
Haven't taken off the inspection plate yet, but the clutch seems fine.
(no slipping)
What should i look for behind the inspection plate?
Any other tests to help diagnose my problem?
