Red face oil pans

ok check list for changing oil......
first step buy a drain pan....
second step postion pan under drain plug....
third remove oil plug....
fourth wait for oil to drain into pan and run out the hole in the bottom....????

it seemed i forget to inspect my new oil drain pan i purchased from autozone which had a very large hole in the bottom so all the oil i drained into the pan came right back out the bottom and all over the garage. and this was the oil change to install my fumoto valve so i got more oil all over while trying to reinstall the drain plug. so a lot of kitty litter later, and another drain pan i finished my oil change.

(who would think to check if the oil pan was water tight??)(not me i guess)

I bet that made your day. I use an aluminum cooking pan to drain oil in.

Mine might as well have a hole in it. I always somehow manage to either miss the pan, or get it all done and trip ovet the pan. Either way resulting in oil everywhere.

The last time I changed the oil in my wifes truck I forgot to slide the oil pan out from behind the front tire before I backed down the ramps. Man what a mess that made,
