I took my truck to a quick oil change place just to have them strip my oil pan drain plug hole. They installed a universal plug that seems like a cheap repair. My question is. Does anyone know a good oil pan plug that can be used, if one does not want to replace an oil pan? I do understand the best fix is to replace the pan.
Stripped the one on my 352, went to napa, they had like 3 or 4 over size plugs, I got the first oversize, took my time threading it in, didn't over tighten it, don't leak, seems to be a good fix compaired to changing the pan.

...and that's EXACTLY why I don't bring my vehicles to those knuckleheads! The other thing they will do is forget to install the oil fill cap. There have been numerous cases where the oil has splashed onto the intake or exhaust manifold and ignited thus burning the vehicle to the ground.
Was the shop a chain type place or a solo store? If it is a chain I would call corporate and see if you can get them to replace the pan. Had a buddy who had a shop put a longer filter on his focus it got ripped off lost the oil and blew the motor. The shop had to pay for a new motor to be installed. The company is responsible for damage done by their employees.
