Thumbs up

Daplumma

Congrats on your purchase!
Sounds as nice as a 24K Gold plated 24 inch Ridgid pipe wrench!

I read your 1st few posts but now that you're an owner, welcome to our world. IMHO you also own one of the best Medium Duty Trucks ever buillt. According to your list it sounds as if you got a real nice example of a "Slick 60's Ford Truck" for yourself. BTW, how bad do those Frogs Taste?

YEAH! I agree with Johns' assessment of it being a Camper Special, [or Trailer Spcl] with bedside mounted locking Tool Box, Dual Tanks & "plush gut" & other options.

Sounds like a full pop Custom Cab also, especially if it has swept style speedometer face, padded dash, tinted glass etc etc. Custom Cabs were truly Custom then. More than just a "name". Custom Cabs came in various trim levels and some other options integrated with or added to the custom cab option to result in some really sweet packages.

Hazzard flashers were optional in 65. So was Custom Cab trim level, seat padding & covering map pocket. The tint is slight, in tinted glass but if it is tint it will say so in the etched emblems on the window glass. Now a days tinted/ banded windshields are available for these trucks and they're really nice, tall as a Slicks' windshield is.

Keyed alike means locks are all original or PO (prev owner) went to FoMoCo & bought a lockset package if/ when he had a lock problem. Probably not tho since few folks know that lockset is available from "Henry". So I'd consider keyed alike to be a good thing in a 40 year old truck, it indicates somebody took care of it. 138K isn't much milage over 40 years time. It's less than 3500 miles per year.

Where is your FE "leaking" Oil from ? I might could give you a couple tips on remedies for that.

Congradulations on your acquisition tho. Sounds like you did well. Feels great when good things happen doesn't it?

Thanx for the replies. No window tint, the glass is great.Rear glass replaced with a camper type that opens.Looks good though. It had air at one time and a trans cooler that still works. The fender emblem says camper special.I got the orig shop manuals volume 1,2 and 3 with it and decoded the "vin".Looks all orig.I think it was garage for many years.I think I am third owner. The last guy bought it as a collector but didn't do anything but let it sit since 2001.I am gonna need a hood and some other bits but for now I'm gonna run it around town to get the bugs out.I drove it all over the farm for 2 days and the oil leak is not evident yet.I guess oil leaks are more relevent when you park them in a suburban driveway as opposed to a dirt floor barn.As for the gold pipe wrench....I'd rather have the truck!!!I've got lots of researching to do and am not familiar with the different level of trim on these things but this one will be pretty much orig when I get it done. How many posts till I can post pics?It has power brakes, drums all around but no power steering. From what I gather here PS is not that tough but does it retract from the value?Glad I waited for this one.Had a line on a 1970 Chevrolet that I prolly woulda gone for if this one had not fell into my lap.Lookin forward to this project.
