The key should always work. Does the key turn or not, is it the correct key?

Inoperative power locks is an electrical issue.

It means either the key is not the correct key or the driver's door lock cylinder needs replacing.

ok, so i found out i dont have the key to my door/ glove box, b/c the truck was supposed to come with 2 keys, an ignition key and a door key, however the owner of the truck said when he bought it, the owner b4 him had no key and had purposely disabled the drivers side lock so he would never lock himself out and be screwed. any idea where i could get a door key for my truck?

You could try a new matching door lock set from LMC.

I don't know anything about the locks, I just remember seeing it while browsing.

LMC is going to be your easiest solution. I've been to the junk yards several times looking for locks. The problem is that you can seldom find keys with the vehicle. If you have some yards close, it might be worth your trip. If not, LMC is probably your best choice.

to be on the safe side I would get the lock cylinders changed it sounds like the guy still might have your door key. I mean most people replace the lost key or have a spare and I have a hard time beliving the orginal owner just left his truck unlocked in this day and age.
