This product is sold in most Wal Marts at around $3.00 a quart.
I'm wondering if anyone knows who produces this product for them?
If it is produced by a major manufacturer it might be a source of cheaper synthetic.
A friend of mine blends engine oils from purchased base stocks for Chevron and I was suprised how many labels they produce for. He also said that the synthetic base stock that they use is some special stuff.
lorner,
I am not absolutely positive about this, so don't hold my feet to the fire if you find out different, ok? I think this oil is is manufactured by Citgo out of Tulsa, Oklahoma thye also make a product called Mystic. Like I said I don't know for sure that is just an assumption........I never liked the word *** U ME.
Warren Distribution blends and packages most of the Wal Mart oil and if I am not mistaken all of the synthetic oils for Wal Mart in the US. You should be able to confirm this by looking at the bottom of the bottle for the WPP logo. Warren not only blends and bottles the Super Tech oil but also oils for sears and several other private label brands as well. The Super Tech synthetic is not Mobil 1 by any means however it is probably as good as many of the group III synthetics. http://www.wd-wpp.com/wd_info.html
Correct , Citgo does not make anything for walmart . They make some high end motorcycle oils for the manufacturers though .
The new Citgo Synthetic might just be the best group III yet and pricing is 15 bucks a six pack case .
I use a different brand synthetic but I would be more apt to use the Citgo than the Mobil synthetic except the 0w-40 Mobil .... the oil Gods created that one and it's very very special . No kidding there .
