i seriously doubt it! warn never made the 8274 in hydro....the design would be very different and would then not be considered an 8274! sure somebody hasn't fooled with your ID plate? ppl do amzing things with engravers.
to be for sure call warn and tell them you have acquired a winch from one of your friends and give'em the serial/model numbers and they can look it up.
wow, this is old thread that I forgot about. I did check website, I think before I first posted here and nothing. I did finally talk to a Warn rep and acknowledged Warn had made one. He said he thought they quit making them in the early to mid 80's. This fits since my Unimog is an '86. As far as ID plate, it's not on the engraved part, its part of the painted or stamped part, like the big W or the border if that makes sense?
Its stashed away right now too good to get pics but when I get a chance I'll try and get some. Just picture a hyd motor or pump in place of the electric one. Its a little smaller than the elec but not much. They had a valve assy on the pass side of the winch mount with a lever for operating from the frt bumper(scary idea I think) and it also had vac solenoids to operate remotely. I mean very remote too this thing had a I guess receiver under the back seat area with wires running to an eyeball and the valve solenoids up front. Never could find the remote though.
