I got a pair of C8AE-h heads with a supposed 3 ange valve job, NOT!, and new seats and guides. I cc'd them to try and see what pistons I was going to order and came up with 78cc chambers. How can this be? Even if the valves are sunk thats alot isn't it? The exhausts seem to sit up in the chamber a little and the intakes are definately down a little. Is there a measurement to check to see if they are in fact sunk? Or do you think I've got an inaccurate syringe?
Seriously--did you have the proper spark plug installed? The chamber properly sealed? Did one of the valves leak a little? What did you use for cc'ing fluid? There is no way the valves could be recessed enough to get that much additional volume.

I used water. It did leak a little so I took the valves out and put some grease on them to seal which they did. I re cc'd them and got the same result. I took one of my old heads which are the same casting and cc'd a chamber and it also came out to 78cc. The syringe is from a pharmacy the kind you use to measure doses for babies so I would think it is correct but I wonder. The spark plug when it was in the new head didn't come all the way up as far as it did in the old head but still the same results. I'm real confused here and want ot get some pistons ordered.
