I've been looking and looking for a set of Nerf bars for my '90 SC. My primary reason for wanting them is to provide easier access into the cab for my kids. It seems that every make/model/size/color/shape I see, all have the step tread waaaay up near the front of the cab where is doesn't look like it can be of any real use to anyone - especially not to some one getting accessing the rear seats. There are some bars for SCs (with two treads), but they appear to have the second set of steps too far back (from looking at pictures). No way can I afford $400 or $500 for a set either.
Any of you guys know of a particular brand or vendor for bars that are reasonably priced, and have a nice, large step tread that is placed in a functional position?
(BTW, while I know it drives the price up, I'd really like stainless or chrome )
I bought a nice set off of ebay for0 $250. And I also have a super cab, the step is just about in the right place on mine. It is easy to get into both the front and rear.

Would you happen to remember the username/store name where you got them? Additionally, do you have any pics of them on your truck?
I have to plug Wildcat Flash for sending me a set of chrome nerf bars from the factory in Arizona to Erie Pa. in a timely fashion, Fed Express tracking was accurate, and they came perfect with very solid mounting brackets. They are warranted for 6 years and the step is in a fine position. I used some grip sheets once that look like black sandpaper, on my trailer ramps and they stayed on through the winter, worked great for years actually. Not sure what the brand name was but I'm sure a small patch on the rear of the bar would assist foot position if you can't get ones with the step far enough back. Also, I used motor oil inside the bars to coat them and sealed the gaps at the mounting brackets with black ATV sealant to lock out moisture. I also applied some sealant over the screws on the step pads. I bought the bars through pickupspecialties.com (236 out the door).

Reason: spelling
That name sounds very familiar - I saw them in my searching yesterday. $236 is in my pricerange. That's a good idea about the black grip sheet stuff - I hadn't thought of that!
Thanks Lesspaul!
