Question Side steps/ nerf bars.

I am interested in removing my running boards and replacing them with side steps/nerf bars. I have found a couple of threads about this subject, but they didn't contain any pictures.

I have seen the AMP steps which are great, but a little out of my price point.

I know this is can be time consuming, but can I see your photos of the side steps/nerf bars on the Ex.

Thanks in advance,

Al

chk the pics in my gallery -
https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...p?userid=59556
both the 02 (no pics of it) and 03 had the side steps and the 05 has the nerf bars....

I really liked the lighted side steps - especially in bad weather, muddy roads, etc....

but the wife has a vote and she likes the nerf bars....

Let her slip off them one time and bet she'll let me swap them out
(her mother already did - and I got accused on that one ! )

The step bars can be alittle tricky in snow or rain, because you can easily slip on the bare step. I do like mine better than the running boards.

From a quick Google image search.

I think our Excursions look a lot better with OEM nerf bars, instead of the running boards. I'm still trying to get my wife to let me put a set on her Ex.

I just went to parts guy ed's website and checked them out. Know I see what OEM stands for: Oh, Extra Money. Wonderful. That for sure on hold for now. I would rather just take the running boards off and leave the spot empty. That is unless someone has a better price for something similar.

Craigslist. Or the classifieds here, at PSN, the Org, and TDS.

I got mine for around a C-note for my F250.

Thanks for the input. I couldn't find anything on craigslist around my area.

Hey alaska, I remember your clad removal thread. Looks good. I'm thinking of the same idea, but installing the fenderflares for an aggressive look.
