went wheelin yesterday and now my back left and manybe right lockup when i tap the brakes. I am guessing its prolly just mud and stuff in the drums its a 78 f250 and tricks on fixing this. also when i hit hte brakes pretty hard the truck pulls left. whats my problem and what do i need to do to get this fixed
Yes, you probably have crap in your drums. Pull, clean, & repeat. If you really hate doing this convert to disk brakes. Less weight, better stopping, and self-cleaning.
how do i remove my drums(back), I took the tire off and the big drum does not just slide right off do i have to take the hub off and everything or should it just slide off once tire is off.

you have a '75 with a full-floating dana axle, you'll have to pull the axle and take off the spindle nut.. bummer...
if you have a 1/2 ton axle, it should just pull off.
Yea, should be a D60 like Bremen described. Its actually pretty easy. You're supposed to have a special socket for the spindle nut but a couple good taps from a screwdriver and hammer will usually spin it right off too.
On older vehicles, the drum will likely be rusted to the shaft. It just need a little coersion (read, 3# sledge). Tap it arond the outer edge of the drum from all directions...it will slide off eventually. I pull and clean my drums about once a year. Brake parts cleaner does a good job......but make sure you put a bucket below to catch all of the crap....it'll make a nice mess in the driveway.
Also, see if you chewed up your seals. If they leak, the tires could lock up. They are on the drum when you take it off, so they will be easy to change then.
