hello i have a 87 f350 with a 460 gas engine i'm going to swap it with a 93 7.3 liter deisel i got the motor wiring harness and exhaust i was wondering is the tranny from the 460 bolt to the deisel motor and is there anything else i may need to do any and all help would be greatly appricated
Dash wiring harness and gauge cluster are different, too. If you've got one of those "wait to start" lights on a diesel cluster, not betting the gasser harness has that wiring in it.
You'll probably need the diesel tranny, too. Being such a wide spread in years between your rig and the donor, the gearing might be better in the 93 tranny anyway.
Check the radiator....if the hose routing is the same, keep it, since HD trucks usually use one radiator for all engine options.
Mayeb there's more, but I can't think of anything else right now...good luck anyway.
Secondly, you will need a tranny for the diesel as they are not the same bell housing pattern as the gas motors. You will probably also need to make some sort of mod to the fuel system but I don't know the details there...
