M5OD shifter adjustment
I can run the shifter through the pattern no problem. Every thing clicks like it should, however the unit will not engage into first or second. 3-5&r work fine.
The 1,2 rail had popped out the metal endplug at the front of the plate, so I replaced it. 1&2 both engage if I do it by hand with the top off. If I put the transmission into gear, select the proper position in the shift pattern, and re-affix the top plate. I can shift it in and out of 1&2 as much as I want, no sweat. I try the other gears and it imidiatly stalls even if I try reverse.
So am I right in my assumption that this was/is a really stupid idea of Fords?
Am I right to think that the shifter is out of whack and needs to be adjusted?
How do I do this?
Is it time for a ZF?
