I am an owner of a 1988 Bronco II all lights work except front headlights-I checked fuses , socket connections all seem to be fine . Checked headlight bulbs and are okay. Brought to repair shop -they put in new light switch and still no headlights -they said no power to lamps ... they assume a lamp module defective however they need to take apart the whole dash board and still that may not be the problem - can you advise or please assist ? thanks so much for your help
If you can't find out what went bad where..just take and make up your own 12v supply conncection with a seperate off/on switch. I had to do this for an old truck i had once..just make sure to use a relay so you wont burn up the off/on switch.
On my 1989 the circuit is very simple. There's a BR wire providing power to the switch, check it 12v, if you don't have power there you may have a blown fuse in the power disrtibution box or blown fusable link. Then you should have power with the switch on at a R/Y wire which goes from the switch to the Hi/Lo switch, which is part of the multifunction switch. If you had power at the BR and none here it's the switch. At the MFS you should have power at a R/BK wire for low beams and power at a P wire for hi beams. Don't forget the grounds and thats it for the circuit.
