Here's a pic of my latest acquisition. Plan on doing a full frame-off rebuild (note: not a "restoration"). I'd like to completely disassemble it and rebuild it onto a late 70s frame.
Real glad to see that there are several out there who have done (and are doing) the same. I need all the encouragement and support I can get.
And unlike the Nova I'm almost finished with....the wife actually likes this one... and is excited to see the end result!
It has it's fair share of gunk and rust...but I think there's enough here to just repair most of the rust spots and not have to order new stuff - except for the front bumper and tailgate - definitely want new ones.

Geez...it's the second short-box step-side I've seen in as many days and it's gettin' to me! I knew I should've taken the step side and not the lwb styleside.
I love seeing trucks when they first 'come off the trailer' like this. Seems they all looked the same when we purchased a fixer upper. Very nice Dan! Can't wait to see picks of this girl when she's done.
Oh, by the way...is the alarm clock in the right hand corner on your dash pad stock?
I'm doing the same thing w/ a '66 F-250 2x4 and a '76 F-250 4x4 - trying to document my progress at http://www.markdevaney.com/truck. I just got the frame back from stripping and am about to relocate the spring hangers for the shorter wheelbase so I should have some newer pictures up soon.
Good luck!
Mark
Would love to do a frame off but no room. Very definite potential. What are your plans for rebuilding? I have a 65 Stepside and of course, I am partial to them.
what a great website, skonnie-mark......guess I should do the same....I'm sure we could collaborate on some things....
scamardo - what I'd really like to do is drop the slick onto a 76-79 4x4 chassis/frame. I'm not looking for speed as much as I want some stump-pulling power. I should have gone with a 460 probably, but I wanted an easy drop-in, so here I sit with a 390 almost completed. I'll strip, prime, patch & paint the body/frame/bed/etc. Clean up everything else....new wood bed. Glass is all good. The bench ain't doing so great....so I'll probably try to grab a later model seat and put in new upholstery. I'd like to get a new guage panel (with all the fixins). I have seem them on other slicks....just have to find the right style. Add a second gas tank to the head of the bead (custom fabbed) and one underneath......wait, could I get away with three?
Hey folks- I'm not getting to see those pictures. All I get is a little box with a red x in it?? I have a 66 f100 stepside and would really like to see somebody elses.
Thanks
Judi
