Dinging sound
Hey, i've been wanting to get rid of the part under the dash of my 98 Ranger that rings when you leave your keys in or lights on. I know it's sometimes handy to have, but as of now i'd rather end up with a dead battery from leaving the lights on than listen to that sound anymore. Could anyone please tell me where it's located under there, and how i can get it out? Thanks a lot.

Why do you want to remove the dinger? Does it stay on when you drive? If you look through this forum you will see many threads about the door chime, and the faulty door switch that will make it stay on. If it stays on when the doors are closed, then the switch has a little corrosion in it and it is shorting the input. All you need to do to fix that is spray a bit of WD-40 into it to fix it.
