windows out, door locks control lights... GEM issue, emergency on leave!
Was working to get my lights fixed while I was home on leave. Got most of the electrical gremlins fixed, and went to start it, and I've got some other issue.
When I hit my lock button, the interior light comes on, and the door chime sounds. windows dont work, wipers don't work, and the engine isn't running. Is this my GEM out? There is a clicking sound coming from under the dash. I need to get this fixed, like right now, or I'm going to be taking a bus back home, and I'm in a world of hurt.
Truck is a 1999 F350 with a 12V cummins swap. I don't know if the GEM going out would affect the engine or not. It

battery voltage is good. Figured out that the running problem was the fuel shutoff solenoid sticking. the alternator is running through a ford regulator, and is wired in separately. still have all the window/wiper/locks issues.
I'm willing to drive the truck home, but I haven't figured out the AC system yet (PO really screwed me on this one...), and without windows open I'll cook alive. I'm guessing that I'll have to roll them down with a battery and leave them that way, and pray I don't get rain...

Well, here's my update, and plea for help.
I don't know who to PM on this issue, if you do, PM them for me please
I made it home. Rolled the passenger side windows down using a length of wire attached to the battery. had no wipers for the drive home. Not sure what else I did wrong. My radio is on unless I disconnect the battery.
I'm at my wits end. From reading previous posts it seems like my GEM is fried, which would make sense (I crossed the wrong wire and smoke came from behind the fuse panel...). I fried part of the engine harness and had to wire the shutoff solenoid on the cummins open for the truck to run. This happened after the windows/wipers issue reared its head.
Can a stealership test my GEM and confirm thats the issue? since I don't need the GEM to control engine functions (12V Cummins...), can I use any GEM off of any truck to get my wipers and windows back, along with my other functions? I still have my gauges, are these routed through the GEM?
I've searched, and yet I can't find answers, someone please help me. This truck has turned into a friggin' money pit and I can no longer afford to fix it...
HELP ME PLEASE!!!

You will need the one for your truck. There might be more then one for your year. I changed one on our 99 Taurus not long ago. I pulled it out first, and got the part number. The Ford dealer wanted over 325 bucks for one. I went to a salvage yard and got one for 20 bucks. I had to pull 4 of them before I found the right one.
