Hi,
I have a 2001 supercrew 4x4 with the 5.4, I was wondering what other owners like for performance exhaust, and tuners. If you have one and like it, please give me info, I'm not sure which one to get. Thanks in advance. Also, what are you guys getting for fuel mileage?

i have the k&n intake system, flowmaster 40 series exhaulst, 285/75 16 BFG A/T's on 16x8 mickey thomson classic II, the next mod that i am getting is the diablo predator. from reading others post on the predator it sounds better then the superchip and it dont cost as much as the superchip at motor heaven.
i aint thought about what i am going to do to my truck after that. anyway good luck
Hi, I also have a 2001 F-150 with a 4.6L. Its 2WD, but thought I'd comment on the functionality of the 4-doors. Its great!!! I don't know if I could ever do without them at this point. The rear seats fold down as you know and really allow alot of flat space back there for tools, dogs, etc. The bed is a little short for my tastes considering I'm heavy into woodworking and would much prefer an extra foot or so since these are only 5.5 foot beds. Oh well, besides that minor complaint I'm pleased. I get about 15.5 mpg in the city and about 18.5 on the highway. My best tank ever is 19.25 mpg. The power isn't as good as I'd like but you have the larger V8 so rest assured you should be fine. I have the Lariat edition so the leather seats are very comfortable. I'm currently having some misfire issues with the engine but overall this is a great truck.
I have a WMS ceramic coated cold air intake and a Flowmaster catback system (3" 50series Deltaflow) Sounds good and runs good. I do not have a chip yet.
I have installed a Gibson 3" Performance Exhaust, K&N Air Kit, and Diablo Predator on my 03 Supercrew 4WD and was very impressed with hp increase. I didn't want a loud exhaust and I am glad with what I have installed. The mpg didn't change much, but thats ok by me. I think next I will go with a set of headers, maybe JBA.
I also have a 2001 f-150 SCrew 4x4 and currently have it tuned by predator, I am running 315/75r16's in BF Goodrich A/T's KO and get around 15mpg city... BUT I am having trouble calibrating the speedo even with the predator so I rely on my GPS for all my calculations and to watch the speed limit. I recommend the predator, it gives good performance gains you will notice right away.
My dads got a 2002 supercrew lariat 5.4, he put a Borla dual exhaust out the rear and a K&N FIPK and it really woke the truck up and hes got 3.55 gears, the MPG increased by 3-4 MPG even do 80+ while towing or not. the mileage around town didnt change much because of stop and go and plus you just always want to punch it to hear the exhaust, by the way, its not to loud, cant even hear it at idle, but when your inside the cab, you can hear it and its got a really nice sound to it and its not irritating either
When i first got my truck I went and got the Flowmaster 40 series muffler and dual exhaust put on and I just wasn't happy with it, the next week I went back and got them to take the muffler off and make a custom Y pipe to fit in the place off the muffler and it sounds awesome, its a lot deeper in tone and louder, which is more my taste.
