I just recently went offroading and there is a lot of mud up on my engine and all around it, i was wondering if it was safe to pressure wash the engine and if there was anything i would need to do before washing it. Thanks
I've never done it=, but it doesn't sound like a good idea. Too many electrical connections under there for me to feel comfortable about it. I've used Simple Green and a garden hose with success.

What about driving down the freway in a rainstorm? They are getting wet for sure. And I have been stuck on my Harley in the rain many times, it keeps on going as long as I do.
But I understand about not wanting to push water directly into the wires. When I clean mine, I go lightly around the driver's side fenderwell, where all of those harnesses are.
Just don't wash it when the engine is HOT. You might crack a manifold.
Be careful not to get water in the Power Distribution Box where all the relays are. Some are expensive to replace.

I understand going through some rain, but that's a bit different then the 500 psi (or more) going through a power sprayer. It'd seem that the water would seep into all of the big connectors on the drivers fender. It may be alright, but I'd be leary of it. BTW, I hate chasing down electrical problems!
