The new Thunderbird stop selling well within the first year it was released. The dealers in my area (Detroit area) were selling them $5-$10 thousand over invoice during the first few months it was released.
The vehicle was over priced and under powered. Last thing I heard was that Ford was planning to discontinue it.

The engine isn't bad in general, it's bad for the sticker price and in comparision to similar vehicles. You should get more performance at the Thunderbird's sticker price. It falls behind it's competition in the luxury convertible market in performance.
