The dealer was supposed to order it on Oct 4th. He didn't show me the order sheet until the 9th, and I had to get upset to get that. It doesn't say on the order sheet when it was ordered. Calling the VOPC line the next week couldn't find my order# until the 11th. (which make me think he didn't get it put in). I got "serialized" on the 14th, and got the build date of 11/08, on the 16th. I haven't called yet today, to see if I have a delivery date.
My order had a priority of 16. 10 is the highest, 99 is the lowest.
My order is a 350 4x2 CC DRW Lariet with just about everything except the adjustable pedals, and the backup sensors, and heated seats. There are no holds on it.
This dealer was recomended by several people over the one close to the house. So far, I'm not impressed. I do like their service dept. though.
I finually got a build date, week of 8 November. No VIN yet though. We got a 250 6L diesel with everything but moon roof, tube running boards and snow plow option.
Ordered my F250 CC 4 weeks ago. Dealer says its in build with no holds but no indication of when. Its strange they don't have more information on when it might get built. Dealer says it could be tomorrow or a month from now. Very frustrating.
I still think the delay is the 18 inch wheels. My build date is this week, should be at dealer by Nov 8. I think my order went in on Sep 30. But I went to the 350 as I was told there was no delay on these.
I happened to look at my dealers inventory on Friday and saw an F350 that had just arrived. To make a long story short I ended up trading my F150 for the 350. It had everything I wanted and not all of the extras they usually add on. I wondered if it was actually my order and they screwed up and ordered the 350 instead of the 250 I wanted. He says not.
This thing really is huge and its noisier that previous ones I drove. I am ready for spring and to tow my 90003 travel trailer. Now if diesel prices would just drop!

Will have to figure out how to post a picture. You only have a week to go! Waiting must be hard.
Am getting a Pace Edwards Jackrabbit tonneau and Ford mudflaps put on the rig on Saturday. Had an ARE tonneau on my F150 which looked great but there were fequent times when things would not fit under it.
The manual says that after hard towing you should let the diesel idle for 10 minutes. How about a 15 minute drive to the hardware store when operating temps are in normal range? Can you just shut it off right away or do you have to let it idle for a minute or two?

Hard ? Excruciating. Im looking into some remote start/security systems by Viper and Python, each one has something called "turbo cool down delay", user slectable. I guess this is what it does when you shut off the engine. Wont know till it's here. We are thinking about the Roll'nLock bedcover, saw it here, really the same thing.
Well, my truck is scheduled to be built next Monday. (11/08/2004). I hope it's not the first one down the line, or the one right before lunch, or the one before end-of-shift...... Hope to have it before Turkey day, so I can drive it around a couple of days, get some miles on it, before I hook up the trailer and put it to work.
