Check engine light?
I have a problem. My check engine light is on and my 4.2L F150 is running a little rough. I took it to AutoZone to have the guy plug in his diagnostic code reader under the dash. He got no signal so I took it over to Advanced Auto Parts and the man there also got no reading. Has anybody ever had this happen? Suggestions would be apreciated.

check engine light
Mine's doing that right now. I got a code read though. Turns out 2 of my cylinders are misfiring. I checked in the manuel and it says that a steady check engine light means exhaust problems. Might go have your exhaust checked out.

update
Well I guess sometimes there are simple solutions. The reason the diagnostic tools wouldn't read the codes is because the outlet under the dash the tool plugs into is on the same circut that the cigar lighter is on and the fuse for that circut has been blown for some time.
