Hard Shift into reverse - 2004 Explorer

Has anyone had a problem with shifting into reverse (mainly from Park) and the transmission seems to slam into gear really hard? It seems to randomly do this and when it happens, it feels very hard and it doesn't seem like it can be normal. Other days it works fine.

Take it to the dealer there is a fix for it, I just can't remember what it was

I just got my wifes 2004 back from the dealer for that problem on Tuesday.. They replaced the solenoid body in the transmission. It seemed to take care of the intermintent slaming into reverse so far.

Just wondering how much you had to pay for the replacement? I have a limited warranty and dealer quoted $577
