what would the main causes of burnt fluid be? could the vacuum modulator cause this and some slippage? need help?

Vacuum modulator moves the shift point higher under heavier load conditions. Burnt fluid is from slipping clutches as a result of low fluid pressure. This could be because of low fluid (caused by a leaking vacuum modulator), worn pump or most likely old seals that are leaking. Have you noticed anything strange like slow engagement in reverse or forward?

Yeah you have to rev it to get it to engage in drive.Gets better when warm but now after fluid change and fliter it slips every time you let off of the gas or when you start out.
