Ford Powercode vs Python Questions

I take delivery of my 05 F350 PSD in the next few days. With our hot summers and chilly winters the remote start feature has some big draws for me. I went to try to find details on the Ford Powercode but I can't find squat on the net or even on Fords website. My vehicle sales guy didn't know much either. Does anyone know the features of the powercode unit?

I've also been considering the Python unit, the local Viper dealer turned me off on my first call, but the Python dealer was professional and asked the right questions about my truck. The 881xp was about 549 installed, the Ford unit would run about 400. I like the two way feature of the Python 881 but the dealer seemed to encourage the ones without the LCD. Is there any major difference between the Python and the Viper units? They appear identical and I've read the only difference is the marketing.

Final question, is I really hate hearing alarms go off so that is one reason I like the Pythons 2 way feature. Can the siren be deactivated and still keep the rest of the system operational?

Python and Viper alarms are both made by DEI (www.directed.com)
The siren can be deactivated by not even hooking it up. Keep in mind that alarms that go off all the time are ones which were not installed and/or adjusted correctly. A shock sensor whose sensitivity is set too high is the usual culprit.

Here are some good links offering advice on alarms and car security in general...
