fuseable link ?

I have 90 bronco. 1 of the fuseable links next to the battery is corroded. I was thinking of moving the links away fron the battery and using a fuse box. i am wondering what amp fuse to use. The links have 20 GA on them.

Thanks Jonathan

We had a debate on here before about what size fuse corresponded to what size fusible link, and never really found an answer. I looked on the web a little and could not find anything either. I do know the fuses have to be rather large, since it takes a little bit of time before a fusible link will blow.

Just off the top of my head, fusible links will run from 40A up to 100A or more,
The alternator output runs through and is protected by a fusible link and it has to carry the alternator output of 80A or more.

Thanks for the info. I got the idea of a replacing the links with a fuse box in Four Wheeler a few months back. That was a fix for ch**ys trucks but they didn't say what size fuse they used. I look at wire diagrams for newer 94-96 trucks and they use 20-30 amp fuses instead of links. my links are 20 Ga and all i can find are 14 GA.
