Hello im new and im not sure im posting this in the right forum but here goes
I have an '83 ranger when i bought it it needed the head replaced so i had it done by a fellow my father-in-law knows he was supposed to be a good mechanic turns out he was wrong after changing the head he found out that the smog pump was locked-up so he disconnected it and for some reason also too almost every single vaccum hose under the hood I went and bought some vaccum lines but cant figure out where to hook them up i tried using the diagram under the hood but its like trying to read japanese with a blind fold on as i know next to nothing about cars im young and broke so i can't afford to take it to a shop i was wondering if someone could send me a picture or something or has any info at all that might help me PLEASE!!! anything could help a lot any responce would be very much appreciated

Why not try your local library in the 620 section. They should have several repair manuals for early models. One of those would likely have what your looking for.
If not, stop by your local Ford dealer, I'll bet they would make a copy of one of their manual pages for you.
OK Adam. here is the answer. Look on the engine for anything that looks like a hose connection. Go to the auto parts store and get a pack of vacuum caps (probably about $2). Cap off every place that a vacuum hose looks like it should hook up to. The 83 is not critical, and as long as you don't have a leak, it will run. Keep us posted please.
