Over cab running lights

I have a 1999 F350 with over the cab running lights. I would like to remove them or if possible, replace them with some light covers that are not as tall. Does anyone know of a way to do either?
Thanks.

I'm no expert but as I've been searching for clear overcab lenses I've been on any truck site I can find and I've never seen a low profile running light. Are you hitting something with them or just don't want them to stand out as much?

You guessed it, I'm hitting something with them. I only need to lose 1/2 inch, so I may just let some air out of the tires, but I would prefer not to have to do that.

I'll keep my eye out for anything lower profile, seems the ones on the trucks now are pretty low compared to some others I've seen. Have you looked at the lights from other brands of trucks?

Yes, but I think the problem there is the footprint of the light. The ford lights tend to be kind of square, while others are more oval shaped. Not sure how that would impact the wiring/roof cut-out.

ds42,

There are some vendors which sell aftermarket light kits, some marketed as "low profile".

http://www.autobarn.net/pac20235.html (has the dimensions of the lights).

or try pacerperformace.com, jc whitney, google search.

I think I'd try to replace them - might have to remove from inside above the headliner. If the existing holes are round try plastic plugs.

Clear Cab Roof Lights

DS42,

I just recently purchased Clear Cab Roof Lights for my F350. I wanted to get rid of the amber look completely. I searched and searched, and finally found on ebay clear cab roof lights. What a difference. It looks awesome. Plus I bought amber colored bulbs so , that at night i still have the amber look. Go to ebay, and type in Clear Cab Roof Lights. You will find them there. The brand name is RECON....Good Luck

AJ
