Buying Wheels need help!
I am putting together my lift and wheel package. I dont have the money to buy everything at once so Im buying what I can get now. Im looking at getting 35 x 12.5 x 16 BFG AT and a 6inch edge lift. My problem is when I went to order the rims, I read somewhere that the F250 is Hub-centric. THe rims I wanted were American Eagle at about 150.00 each. The only rims I saw that were hub-centric where made by Weld and close to 300.00 each. Then I saw that the recommended back spacing for the lift is 5 inches. Weld only makes that back spacing in a 17 inch which adds more to my cost making me get 17inch tires! I dont want to spend that much and I know Ive seen 35 x 16 x 12.5 only some trucks out there with lifts. Anyone else go through this ? Thanks

Yep, AE Wheels are lug centric.
Weld and Alcoa are the only ones that I know of that make hub centric wheels.
I'd go with 4.5-4.625" Backspacing. If you are going with 16s be careful with Welds since many of the styles only come in 3.625" BS in the 16" size.
Hope this helps.

Just this evening I installed American Eagle series 102 wheels, although they are only 16 X 8 so that I can put on Nitto 285/75R16 tires without the centers wearing out prematurely, like the last set of Nitto 305/70R16s did on stock wheels. Which center caps did you use for the front? The ones they sent look kind of stupid, too big?

How do you like those PJs, I was looking at those and the Toyo, BFG all Terrains. Still undecided

I have a little over 1000 miles on them and so far I like them alot. They hum a little on the street but ride pretty smooth. I used to have 35" BFG ATs and what I always hated was the amount of gravel they picked up and threw at the truck. So far I haven't heard any getting thrown with the PJs and I've had it in the gravel a lot with them. Plus, the PJs sound a lot cooler when you spin them...a bit more of a howl to them
From what I hear, the new Toyo Open Country M/T tires are supposed to be the hot tire to get. Everyone I know with them loves them.
