yup, I'm new. Just bought a '94 f-150 4x4 with a 4.9 and 5-speed. Just searching for stuff I would need to do to it to help it tow my '68 Plymouth roadrunner on the trailer better. Any help is cool, the search function on here is not working so well, anyone have any ideas what I can do to this thing? The trailer with the car on it wieghs about 4200 lbs.
Nice to have you here. First I would put a block of wood in front of the trailer tires so that it won't move, and then use a chain from the car to the truck. After starting the truck you should be able to pull the car on to the trailer really easy. Now with that said. Larger exhaust for better breathing and maybe change to a good air filter system. One thing that I have found with travel trailer is to make sure that the air pressure is correct. Even a few pounds off can cause you to have trouble towing.
HA HA!!! funny funny, I meant help the truck pull the trailer, with the car on it, down the road better... I haven't tried it yet but I've read some stories on here that make me think I should have gotten a different truck. I thought this truck wouldn't have a problem, or so my fellow Air Force bretheren think so.
OK ..... welcome to FTE swimmer. I think if you look through each forum, you'll find some good ideas for increasing your power and your truck's appearance if you so choose. There are computer chips and a lot of other engine mods that can be done. If you post in some of the other forums, like the 94 Forums, someone there might get a notion to give you some suggestions with what they have done with theirs to improve horsepower, torque, etc. I suggest taking some time and just scanning through the forums that match your interests and needs. Modifications are as different to each of us as our needs are. Good luck in your efforts and please keep us posted.
We do ask that you read the Forum Guidelines and the READ FIRST notes at the beginning of each forum. They will help a lot in posting or retreiving information.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
