1992 F-150, 5.8 V8, E4OD. I checked timing and it was off. I reset it to 10 degrees BTC, cleared all codes and drove about 30 miles. I rechecked codes and had a KOEO code 327. I think this is about voltage to the valve on top of the EGR valve. Can anyone give me an idea of what to check next.
Arvin J.
Code 327 says the voltage coming back from the EFP sensor is "way too low". This usually indicates a wiring problem or a dead sensor. The EVP works just like the TPS, with VREF, ground, and a potentiometer wiper.
Pull the connector off the EVP sensor and check VREF and ground with a voltmeter.
If VREF looks good, jumper VREF to the sense line, run the test again, and see if you now get code 337. If you do, VREF and the sense line wiring are good. Replace the sensor (and possibly the EGR valve as well).
If you don't, there is an open in the sense line somewhere.
As always, check all the ground wires between battery, engine, frame, body, etc.
