some BII questions
I have 1990 B2 4x4 A/T with a 2.9 EFI & 3.73 gears; 215-70R15 tires.
Fuel tank capacity is 21 gallons to the best of my recollection.
I get a solid 17 MPG in daily driving, some city and some rural. Max was 25 MPG @ 65-70 mph on a trip. If the 2.8 is carbureted (forget how they come) I'd expect less MPG. Gear ratio and tire size will influence. Also I lose about 2 MPG when they sell oxygenated fuel during the winter.
The tranny some call "AOD" or "A4LD."
This has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Less than $1500 in non-routine repairs over 6 years & 100,000 miles, including a trans rebuild ($800) But I do all my own work. It towed a Nissan stationwagon on a dolly 450 miles (couldn't even tell it was there), and pulls my 4000lb. boat with little complaint. Kick ##### in the snow!
Good luck with your B2.
