I just acquired a Pioneer MP3 player out of a Ranger pickup.
The multi-pin connector in the wiring harness works fine, but there is a 4 pin connection on the back of the Pioneer unit that has no matching harness connection.
When I power up the truck, the player is dead, which makes me think that the unconnected 4 pin connection is for power input.
My pioneer system, has one plug for the power and speakers and then another smaller one for things like an XM radio, or auxillary inputs. I think you need to look and make sure that all the wires are connected correctly to the radio and harness. Did you use an adapter harness or cut the factory one?
