37-39 cabs vs 40-47

trying to work out what the differences between the earlier cabs(37-39) and the 40-47 as far as i can see the only noticible difference is the wiper placement - surely with the chassis' being 37-41 and 42-47 if a 40 cab fits both chassis then in theory so should a 37 - or am i missing something - does the front sheet metal blot to the cab differently to the 40 onwards cabs???

Floor boards are different. The ealier cabs 41 and back shared their chassis with the cars, where as the 42-47 have their own chassis, so Id imagine thats why the floors are diffrent. Im not sure though so if anyone else wants to add/correct feel free too.

Floor Pans 37-39 Vs. 40-47

Can anyone let me know if the floor pans from a 40 1/2 ton will fit the 39 1/2 ton cab.
I know that in front of the seat riser the 38-39 were wood, then the toe board was metal. Its under the seat riser I am interested in knowing about.
Te seat riser in my 39 was cut out to accomodate bucket seats, and I want to return to the bench seat. I have recently bought a seat riser from a 41 1/2 ton, and need to put a floor pan under it.
Anyone out there know if the 40 will work? Thanks in advance for any replies

At one time I was considering buying a 38 for pickup that needed a few patchpanels. Northern classic trucks sells patch panels for the 40-47 cabs and I contacted them about the differences between the 40-47 cabs vs the 37-39. Unfortunatly, I no longer have that email. If you want to contact them go to northernclassictrucks.com and go to their contact info and email them. I always recieved a reply form them within 24 hours. Hope that helps and btw, I don't think it will fit.

38--39 Floor Boards

Thanks for the reply and I have already been in touch with them, gteat people.
They couldn't say for sure if the 40s were the same or not. So far it looks as though the 40s, might be the only bet that I have so far.

I bought a seat riser from a guy in VA. he cut it out of a 41 cab I trimmed it up a little and it fit with the steel floor and all. In fact the body mount bolts matched up with the holes in the seat riser. Now just a little welding and seam sealer and she is all done.
I have since found out that 35-41 pickups 1/2 tons that is shared the same chassis as the cars. Hope this info will be of some help to some-one else.
Thanks to all who answered my post
