My truck is sitting at the local mud pit. I have no lights, no signs of any power, the battery has a full charge, direct current applied to starter would move it, but not enough power to start it. My truck has a 4 speed manual transmission, could it be the neutral safety switch? Or the soleniod? Oh I forgot to mention we were trying to jump the battery. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Have been up many hours and not feeling too sharp. Thanks

There should be no neutral safety switch on a manual transmission. It could be the solenoid but that's odd that you have no lights at all either. This may sound too simple but double check your battery teminals. Often times if they get corroded you'll lose all contact with the post and get no power. Clean them and tighten them. If that doesn't solve it then I'd bet money on the solenoid, a cheap fix.
There is a wire going to the battery side of the solenoid that is a "fused link" The wire has a strange tag looking thing in it a couple inches down from the solenoid.
Cut the wire below the strange looking tag thing and reconnect it to the solenoid.
I had the same thing with my 77 the other day. Fully charged battery but no power to anything. I was anticipating cutting out fusible links, and putting the meter on the menage of wiring "installed" by the PO, but started by cleaning up the battery terminals and connecting points of everything coming off the solenoid. Whatever was causing the problem disappeared after that. If I've learned anything about electrical problems, it's that it doesn't have to look bad to be bad. A little sandpaper can go a long way.
Pull it home, power wash everything and start to clean and inspect all
your wiring. That would be the first step and you will probably find your
problem.
